Listen to That Cold Stare

It sounds a cry louder than the voice of the world once free,
It scrapes at my flesh like the predator standing over me,
It bleeds like the wound of a thousand soldiers at war;
It's my heart and it is in pain for evermore.

I sit here with salty tears and a broken heart,
My mother trying to sew it back together but its all torn apart;
Nothing will do but the mending of my heart by the hand of the one
Who broke it with her words, actions, stare - her heart undone.

As always hearts are broken, and backs will bend,
When the words are spoken but the heart will contend.
I spent my life looking for what is not there;
My eyes are nothing but wooden stalks with her powerful stare.

My heart of steel turns into a single thread;
When she denied my love my heart felt dead.
My heart tries to mend itself, but once again my heart tears,
I love forever, it feels like forever, and no one cares.
